hide‘s younger brother, Hiroshi Matsumoto of the Head Wax Organization, announced the memorial live performance “hide 20th memorial SUPER LIVE ‘SPIRITS’” in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of hide’s death. The memorial live will be held in 2018 for two days (April 28 and 29) at the special outdoor stage in Odaiba. The announcement was made at the end of hide’s birthday event “hide Birthday Party 2017,” held on December 10 at CLUB CITTA in Kanagawa. hide with Spread Beaver was announced as the opening act of the event.
Furthermore, the start of the “hide 20th Memorial Project” was revealed. A documentary movie is scheduled to be released in 2018, and a memorial boxset (title TBA), which puts together precious videos and voice comments of hide that were passed on in 1998, as well as the book “The World Without You ~the traces of the 2486 days I spent with hide~,” by hide’s close friend I.N.A. (hide with Spread Beaver), whom he also created music with, will be on sale next spring. Further details will be published on the special “hide 20th Memorial Project” website.
