SuG to release special album to celebrate tenth anniversary!

Remember how SuG announced that they’re going to have many interesting projects in their 10^th year as a band, including the concert in Nippon Budokan on September 2? Now we have some more information about the projects!

This March 8, SuG is going to release a greatest hits album called ‘MIXTAPE’. Eighteen songs were chosen from their already long list of songs. These songs are considered representing SuG, and they’re selected and ordered not only according to the history of the band, but also the memory of each member in order to answer the question: What is SuG? Thus, we can also get the answer by listening to the whole album from start to end.

Is anyone still too young to remember what a cassette tape is? A few decades ago, before the advance of CD, people would copy their favourite songs in the order they liked onto magnetic tapes on ‘cassette tapes’ such as the one on the cover of SuG’s MIXTAPE. The result was called a mixtape—something like your Spotify playlist, but it’s not digital. SuG chose this simple but strong image to grace the cover of their own MIXTAPE.

SuG would also release ARCHIVES, consisting of 3 CDs (39 songs) and 2 Blu-ray discs that would cost 15,000 yen (including tax). You might have to ask for help from friends living in Japan or shop online to buy the records since they’re only released in Japan. But try and make sure to join the festivities of SuG’s 10^th year anniversary in Nippon Budokan – it’s going to be a blast!
